He moved to Utah for college and eventually decided to stay, attracted by the incredible outdoor opportunities that exist throughout the state. Not only did they provide hours of recreation, the beautiful locations inspired Chad to begin a new series of art pieces. Using hundreds of colorful strips of tape, Chad recreated the places and things that define Utah. Tape is a unique medium that provides an additional link between the art and the outdoors. Unless time is taken to appreciate and conserve these beautiful and culturally significant locations, they will become as disposable and meaningless as the tape used in the art. However, if they are persevered properly, they can be enjoyed for generations to come.
